Updated Home Office guidance for temporary UK residents and UK visa applicants affected by Coronavirus

If your permission to be in the UK will end before the 31st  July 2020, and you are unable to leave due to travel restrictions or self-isolation , you will be able to request an extension of leave until 31st July.

You must complete a special form to request the extension and will be expected to leave the UK as soon as it is safe and possible to do so.

If you were planning to leave the UK but to apply for a visa to return here you may be able to “ switch” status whilst in the UK. This will only be the case if your leave is going to expire before the end of July and if you meet the usual requirements of the rules.
